Dear fellow Brooklynites,
Happy Friday, and Eid mubarak to all celebrating!
On this joyful day, we've got some exciting news to share: BYD has been named Chapter of the Year by the New York State Young Democrats!

|
In announcing the honor, NYSYD wrote that "through great adversity, our local chapter in Brooklyn has been able to produce time and time again for candidates and electeds" in the borough.
We're immensely proud that, despite a long effort by our own county party to stamp us out, BYD has worked tirelessly to support progressive leaders, empower young people, and fight for a better, fairer Brooklyn. This moment would not be possible without all of you. Thank you for being part of BYD!
If you're interested in celebrating this win with us and other young Democrats across New York State, sign up to join us at NYSYD's annual gala and convention in Kingston on May 20th!

The award from NYSYD is a reminder that our work is far from finished. If you're looking to get politically active this spring, now's your moment!

Join BYD at Sweet Brooklyn Bar on Wednesday, April 26th for our next general meeting! We'll talk about what's at stake in the fight over this year's state budget, launch our new AAPI Caucus, learn about the fight to end qualified immunity, and share info about Young Dems conventions.
This is a great opportunity to dive in to our work—we hope you'll join us!

City Council primaries are coming up in June, but for our communities to participate, they need to be registered to vote!
Join BYD, Seaside Independent Democrats and Council Member Justin Brannan in Coney Island on Sunday for a voter registration drive!
