AmerisourceBergen and private equity firm TPG are partnering to purchase OneOncology from General Atlantic for $2.1 billion. AmerisourceBergen, which has a large drug distribution business, will pay about $685 million in cash for a minority stake in the oncology practices network.

Software firms such as Blue Yonder Group and Manhattan Associates are exploring ways to use emerging generative artificial intelligence technology currently used for tasks such as news writing and apply it to logistics-oriented functions such as forecasting, procurement and inventory management, writes Liz Young. Experts say current programs such as ChatGPT's chatbots distill vast amounts of data but can still yield inaccurate information, and Gartner analyst Marko Pukkila predicts it will take years before the technology takes hold within the logistics industry.
