“I want to be involved.”
Five words that can make the difference in the lives of countless students. One step that shows LGBTQ+ students that there is someone in their corner—they are not alone.
The very first Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) created a foundation of understanding, support, and safety between a teacher and a student who felt different and targeted. And it started a movement that has supported generations of young people…millions of LGBTQ+ students who, in turn, help lift others in their schools and communities.
The power of GSAs is fueled by a spark that cannot and will not be extinguished. This collective power is reflected in student leaders—and made possible by the generous investment from supporters like you.
Your support helps teachers, educators, coaches, parents and GLSEN allies share comments like this about the power of their GSAs:
“I want to do more with our GSA and make it bigger. I knew this was a space that I wanted to be involved in and help students. To provide a safe comfortable avenue for any student who might want to really take up that fight. But I also want to try to protect them and make sure they’re put into safe places.”
Thank you for rising up to empower young people, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
