John,

At last year’s State of the Union address, the president didn’t mention gun violence prevention once – even though 2018 had 116 school shootings, the most ever in a single year.

And in 2019, 111 school shootings devastated families and communities – all while the Senate refused to vote on a historic universal background checks bill for months.

We can’t let the White House and Congress continue to stay silent on gun violence any longer. They need to know that the human toll of inaction is precious lives like my sweet little Daniel’s.

Ahead of Tuesday’s State of the Union address, we need to reach 20,000 petition signatures to send a powerful message to the White House and Congress to finally prioritize gun violence prevention. So I’m personally asking you: Will you sign our petition now?

Click here to sign our petition demanding the White House and Congress prioritize enacting gun safety reforms like universal background checks to protect children from gun violence.

I wouldn't wish the never-ending anguish of losing a child to gun violence on anyone. That's why I've dedicated my life to doing everything in my power to honor my sweet little Daniel by building a safer world for all of our children. And that’s why I’m counting on your support to demand Congress and the White House finally make gun violence prevention a priority.

Thank you so much for taking action.

Mark Barden (Daniel’s father)
