John, after a harsh winter, spring has finally come, and Governor Holcomb has been out and about working to fulfill his promise to Hoosiers across Indiana.
Catch up on his agenda and some of what he’s been up to below.
[ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ANNOUNCEMENT]
A HISTORIC INVESTMENT IN BOONE COUNTY
Governor Holcomb recently joined executives of Eli Lilly and Company and community leaders to break ground on the company’s new manufacturing facilities in Boone County — but ground wasn’t the only thing that was broken! At the event, Lilly announced an additional investment of $1.6 billion into the facilities that would create an additional 200 jobs, bringing the investment total to $3.7 billion and 700 new jobs.
This will be the largest manufacturing investment in a single location in the company’s history. Here’s what Gov. Holcomb had to say:
“As a state, we are proud to partner with Lilly in accelerating Indiana’s talent pipeline and career opportunities while leveraging the state’s manufacturing excellence to develop life-changing and life-saving solutions for people across the world.”
Hoosiers deserve a quality education, regardless of their family's income. That’s why Governor Holcomb’s Next Level Agenda ensures tuition-free education by eliminating curriculum fees and textbook costs starting next school year.
Governor Holcomb recently welcomed the Hagerstown Little League team that represented the Great Lakes region in the Little League World Series last summer. This team of Hoosier kids, coaches, and parents made all of Indiana proud!
