John,

When you think of Republicans on their worst behavior, Tim Scott doesn’t normally come to mind.

The South Carolina Republican has been generally reserved and measured during his time in the U.S. Senate. He’s made a visible effort to stay above the fray, sometimes trying to broker compromises between Republicans and Democrats. Major policy differences aside, we’ve even found Tim Scott — dare we say it — likable.

But then he decided to run for President.

If you’ve seen Tim Scott’s recent comments on abortion, you know where we’re headed with this — and you know we need to keep calling out politicians who succumb to extremist pressure. Please chip in to help us continue exposing Republicans who show us their worst behavior >> secure.actblue.com/donate/HJGA-04-Email-April2023-FR-WBWScott?refcode=E21002-20230420-WBWTimScott-SL1pt-GOP-RegTemplate-NA-EG&amount=15

Thrust onto the national stage, Tim Scott is groveling, shedding his dignity, lowering himself in an attempt to win over MAGA voters. Tim, Tim, Tim… how did it come to this?

When asked last week about whether he would sign a federal abortion ban as President, Tim Scott gave one of the most appalling answers we’ve heard:

“If I were President of the United States, I would literally sign the most conservative, pro-life legislation that they can get through Congress.” – Tim Scott

This is just hard to watch, John. It’s downright disappointing to see Tim Scott grovel for votes in this way.

Please help us continue to call out Republicans’ worst behavior and make sure we can combat their backwards policies >> secure.actblue.com/donate/HJGA-04-Email-April2023-FR-WBWScott?refcode=E21002-20230420-WBWTimScott-SL2pt-GOP-RegTemplate-NA-EG&amount=15

Let’s be clear about something: The far-right Trump supporters who embrace white supremacy are never going to vote for a candidate of color. Yes, they’re welcoming Tim Scott into the primary, but that’s only because they see a Black man affirming their white-supremacist worldview as permission to continue their extremism.

This is just the beginning of Tim Scott’s campaign, John. It’s a long way down to the bottom of the MAGA barrel, and the Senator from South Carolina is just getting started.

Please help Worst Behavior Watch continue to call out Republican politicians like Tim Scott who play to their party’s worst impulses >> secure.actblue.com/donate/HJGA-04-Email-April2023-FR-WBWScott?refcode=E21002-20230420-WBWTimScott-SL3pt-GOP-RegTemplate-NA-EG&amount=15

Thank you, John.
