Have you seen the headlines, John?
Maryland is leading the way on the key issues facing us as the Moore-Miller administration delivers on our promises and works with our partners on both sides of the aisle to ensure we leave no Marylander behind.
From passing 10/10 of his top-priority bills in the state legislature, to taking urgent action to ensure Maryland remains a safe haven for abortion rights, Wes is leading and people are taking notice!
Check out some of these highlights:
The strategic charm of Gov. Wes Moore’s first months leading Maryland — The Washington Post
“Moore is building alliances to establish himself as a different type of leader: He wants to be a convener, not an adversary… In his first months in office, Moore deployed his trademark charisma strategically. He’ll need those people to make the state government do more than it ever has.” Read more here.
As other state legislatures push to the right, Maryland digs in on Democratic priorities
— The Baltimore Banner
“Florida lawmakers voted to allow people to carry loaded weapons anywhere without a permit. Several states have fully banned abortion and limited transgender children from participating in sports. Missouri is moving to defund libraries as part of a fight over book-banning. And in Tennessee, there was an effort to expel Democratic lawmakers who led a protest for gun control.
In Maryland, where state government is controlled entirely by Democrats for the first time in eight years, lawmakers have strengthened access to reproductive health care, rewritten rules for carrying guns, raised the minimum wage and created a legal marijuana industry with an eye toward redressing historic injustices from the war on drugs — further cementing the state as a solid home for liberal policies.” Read more here.
Gov. Wes Moore on ABC show touts legislative gains, abortion pill stockpile, plans to ‘aggressively’ focus on crime — Baltimore Sun
“Less than 90 days into his first term, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore appeared Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” touting recent legislative victories in the General Assembly and promising that the state will take the lead in preserving women’s reproductive rights. On Friday, the state announced it would stockpile mifepristone, the drug prescribed for medicated abortions that is the subject of litigation resulting in dueling rulings across the country.” Read more and watch the interview here.
It’s clear: in just these first few months alone, Wes is uniting Maryland leaders to defend our rights, make progress on the issues facing our communities, and create work, wages, and wealth across the state.
While Wes is busy signing bills, meeting with constituents, and making change, he has little time to fundraise. Can you chip in $10 or more right now to fuel our campaign and keep Wes focused on serving Maryland?
