JOhn, today marks exactly six years since I announced my first campaign for Congress and began the work of flipping a seat blue that the Republicans had controlled for nearly four decades.

As I look back on all of our team's accomplishments, all the challenges we've faced, and all the changes (both good and bad) in our country since then, I am more determined than ever to keep being a voice for the people of Northern Virginia.

I'm proud to have backed policies that have led to record job creation and economic growth. I'm proud to have backed historic legislation that took on pharmaceutical companies and lifted up our efforts to combat climate change. But progress in our country is only possible when we recognize that the status quo must always be improved.

The threats to reproductive choice and our very democracy are too great for me to be complacent. And there's still so much more to be done to lower the cost of living, improve the quality of education, and make our planet a cleaner place to live.

So today, as I look back on six years of our journey together, I want to thank you for your steadfast support — and let you know that I aim to keep being your voice for many more years to come.
