Rational Middle Podcast “Trying to Find the Middle” - Theresa Cardinal Brown of the Bipartisan Policy Center returns to the Rational Middle of Immigration podcast to discuss “finding the middle” with immigration policies that legislators from both parties can agree on and that would be supported by the majority of Americans in both parties. After discussing the policy issues and political challenges, she proposes solutions to work on now that would likely get the bipartisan agreement that is necessary to become law.

The majority of teen crime, drug use, pregnancy, suicide, school dropouts, and even nearly all school shooters had unequal parenting homes. TX HB 3379 / SB 1702, the Equal Parenting bills, will make equal possession and access the new standard starting point in Texas child custody cases when both parents are fit and able. Call Representative Harold Dutton, Chairman of the Texas House Committee on Juvenile Justice and Family Issues, and ask him to set a timely hearing for the Texas Equal Parenting Bill.

Cornyn to IRS Commissioner: Democrats’ EV Tax Credits Will Enrich China - In the Senate Finance Committee, Senator John Cornyn questioned IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel on the Biden administration’s out-of-touch electric vehicle tax credits included in Democrat lawmakers' "Inflation Reduction Act," which will subsidize the purchase of Chinese-made batteries using American taxpayer dollars. The bill "lavishes rich subsidies for electric vehicles, up to $7,500 credit for electric vehicles...there's a $40,000 tax credit for commercial electric vehicles...it was originally advertised as being a $30-billion expenditure. And the truth is, it looks like it’s going to be closer to $200 billion," said Cornyn.
