Together we can create a legal system that is rooted in justice and equity, not profiting from the mass incarceration of Black and Brown people. But I need you in this fight with me.
It’s 4/20 — and today’s association with marijuana is another reminder that Black and Brown people continue to be disproportionately arrested and incarcerated on marijuana-related charges.
That’s a key part of why I introduced the People’s Justice Guarantee — my legislation to dismantle and radically transform our system of mass incarceration through a large-scale decarceration effort.
The People’s Justice Guarantee would legalize marijuana at the federal level — which is a racial and social justice issue.
My work has always been in the pursuit of justice. Justice for my district, justice for our communities, and justice for the people.
Together we can rebuild a legal system that is rooted in justice and equity, not profiting from the mass incarceration of Black and Brown people — and we can start by ending the failed War on Drugs. But I need you in this fight with me, which is why I’m asking today:
Will you contribute $4.20 (or any amount that is meaningful to you) to support the People’s Justice Guarantee and legalizing marijuana on the federal level?
Thank you for being a part of our movement for justice and equity for all.
In solidarity,
Ayanna Pressley
