Congress must reintroduce and pass the LIFT the BAR Act now.
Everyone in the United States, no matter who they are or where they’re from,
should be able to put food on the table, receive the medical care they need, and
pay their bills — without worrying whether they can afford it.
But that’s just simply not the reality, friend. Millions
of immigrants who live and work in the U.S. don’t have access to critical health
care and social services, like Medicaid and SNAP.
Congress has the power to change that by reintroducing and passing the LIFT the
BAR Act , which would ensure hundreds of thousands of immigrants have access to
health care and basic economic support. Join us in calling on your
representatives to co-sponsor the LIFT the BAR Act today >>>

[[link removed]]For the last 27 years, a discriminatory law has denied lawfully present
immigrants the ability to access essential government programs by requiring them
to wait at least five years before they can apply. Many others, like those with
Temporary Protected Status (TPS), are permanently barred. It is an injustice
that their tax dollars fund these programs, and yet they are unable to access
them.
No one should ever have to choose between putting food on the table and getting
the medical care they need, especially while our country is still in recovery
from COVID-19 and the subsequent economic crisis. That’s why it’s critical that Congress reintroduce and pass the LIFT the BAR Act now.
It's 27 years overdue for Congress to eliminate the xenophobic five-year bar to
health care, nutrition, and housing. Friend, will you
join us in sending a message to your elected officials today, calling on them to
co-sponsor the LIFT the BAR Act ?
