John,
Texas got a little closer to removing sexually explicit materials in schools this week with the passage of Rep. Patterson’s HB 900, the READER Act. Recognizing that protecting children
shouldn’t be a partisan issue, 11 House Democrats bravely broke ranks and joined with Republicans to pass the bill! |
The Senate has already passed its version of the bill, SB 13, which
would remove obscene and sexually explicit books from school libraries. So we’re almost there, but we need your help! Can you chip in $5, $10, $25, or more to the
fight to take back our schools from the Radical Left? We
must, and we will, win back our schools from the radical ideology of the extreme Left. There is no place in our education system for sexually
explicit material and pornographic content. That is why we are working around the clock to make sure these bills become law before the end of this
legislative session on May 29th. |

John, Parents across the country are rising up, and
demanding schools remove pornographic and sexually explicit materials from their children’s schools – and Texas is leading the
way. A couple of weeks ago, we shared how State Republican
Executive Committee member Christin Bentley is putting in the work to shine a light on some of
the sexually explicit and violent books that are on display in our public school libraries. Bentley is committing to send one book title with explicit
content found in Texas schools to state lawmakers every day the state legislature remains in session. Books like “Boy Toy,”
“Assassination Classroom,” “Gender Queer,” and “This Book Is Gay” – just to name a few.
Sadly, Bentley says there are “enough book titles to do this every day for two
years, and we still wouldn’t be providing all of the books.” |
Since our last update, State Rep. Jared Patterson (R-Frisco) had a hearing with
over 6 hours of testimony from concerned parents supporting HB 900, The READER Act, prohibiting sexually explicit books from being in our
school libraries. We are calling on all of our elected Republican State Representatives to take action this session and pass HB 900 to stop
the perversion and sexualization of our children! Former Congresswoman Mayra Flores has also spoken out on behalf of Texas parents, stating
emphatically, "Filthy books do not belong in our children's schools. We must support Texas moms and protect children's
innocence.” If you want to help expose and eliminate these
pornographic and sexually explicit books in our schools, chip in $5 to help cover the cost of sending a
new book report daily! |
