John,

There's no denying it: climate change is scary.

It can feel overwhelming and nearly impossible to solve, with so many factors to consider – auto emissions, forest conservation, land use, energy and utilities, and so on.

But if you're feeling anxious about the climate crisis, I want to share that hope is not lost. We are making real progress to secure a cleaner, safer future, and we all have a role to play.

Here in Washington, a cap on planet-warming emissions took effect this year, which will hold major polluters accountable for every ton of carbon dioxide they emit.

Meanwhile, our state's recent "cap-and-invest" auction raised an estimated $300 million from polluting companies to fund clean energy projects, reduce emissions from buildings and transportation, and help our state adapt to the effects of rising global temperatures.

Hope is not lost on climate, John. Far from it – we are making real progress for the health and safety of our planet.

But for that progress to continue in the face of mounting climate threats, we must take back our Democratic majority next year and go all-in on a legislative agenda that puts working families and our planet first. Will you chip in $5 or any amount now to put us on the right track to continue our progress for climate and families everywhere?>> [link removed]

When we have leadership that puts the health and safety of our planet and our children's future ahead of polluter profits, we can really make an impact in the climate fight. The Inflation Reduction Act passed by Democrats last year ramps up climate action, with significant incentives for clean energy, electric cars, and electric homes while ramping up green manufacturing to meet the new demand.

While there are many reasons to be hopeful, one major obstacle hindering climate action right now is the House GOP.

House Republicans just passed H.R. 1, aka the Polluters over People Act , for its massive giveaways for Big Oil and mining companies, allowing corporate polluters more freedom to drill and mine in our communities in a time when we urgently need to be moving towards sustainable and renewable energy.

Democrats are fighting for working people and our planet, and we're going all in on strong climate action that boosts our economy, puts us as leaders in clean energy, and protects our communities from the devastating impacts of the climate crisis. Will you power our efforts and help us take back our majority and defend our planet with a contribution of $5 or any amount that works for you? >> [link removed]
