Why Bob Lorinser is concerned: The bill fails to specify the agencies and programs to cut or eliminate. Still, it must target federal healthcare, science, education, housing, transportation, energy/environment, climate, labor, and research programs. It would leave the defense and Veterans' services untouched. Over 10 million people could be kicked off Food Stamps, amounting to one in four current SNAP beneficiaries, including our children, seniors, and Veterans. Nationwide, nearly 1.4 million households with veterans — about 7% percent of all veteran households — use SNAP benefits, providing the purchasing power necessary to buy food. The program helps veterans put food on the table, reduces poverty, supports economic stability, and improves health outcomes. Independent agencies have yet to assess the economic impact of the legislation. Repealing portions of the Inflation Reduction Act addressing health, climate, and tax law would increase the deficit, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). Reverse the additional IRS funding to improve the collection of taxes on those making over 400,000 would contribute to the deficit per CBO. "I worry, and so should you," said Doc. "There are other options to address our national deficits. "Can you contribute to my campaign for US Congress so I can advocate for a more reasonable and transparent approach to balancing the budget while still providing critical services to American citizens?
