Friends —
My re-election campaign is up and running, so my friend Michael Bennet suggested I reach out — I need your help to make sure this seat is not in play for Republicans in 2024. Our Senate majority is incredibly slim, and the truth is the map is even tougher for us than it was last year.
The experts at Cook Political say Democrats are “almost entirely on defense” because there really aren’t any seats we can flip blue. That means holding every single seat is going to be that much more important.
So I’m not willing to take anything for granted. There’s a real danger if any of our opponents think we’re asleep at the wheel and vulnerable to attacks.
Last time I was up for re-election, Republicans pumped millions of dollars into Connecticut to try to make gains in our state. We saw the same thing last cycle when Republicans dumped huge amounts of money trying to pick up Senate seats in states like Colorado.
And frankly, the reason we didn’t hold the House last year is because Republicans made significant inroads in New York.
That’s why it’s so important that we demonstrate we are ready for anything that comes our way — whether from Mitch McConnell’s super PACs, the gun lobby or another self-funding billionaire that wants to try to buy this seat. So I am asking you to please have my back today:
Will you split a $20 contribution between my re-election and Michael Bennet's campaign to hold this seat and defend Democrats’ Senate majority in 2024? We need to start the second quarter as strong as we possibly can, so every single donation helps us demonstrate the depth of support for our campaign.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation to Chris Murphy & Michael Bennet will go through immediately:
I’m grateful to have you on this team. Please know that your support not only means the world to me but is truly important to our success. Thank you.
Every best wish,
Chris Murphy
