John— We all know the NRA is losing traction among Americans. It’s been dropping members and losing donations for years. But that doesn’t mean it’s powerless—and last weekend’s NRA convention in Indianapolis is proof enough. Politicians like Donald Trump, Mike Pence, and Ron DeSantis spoke at the convention, promoting its message of weaker gun laws and a more extremist gun culture. Arming teachers, marketing assault rifles to children, and punishing police for enforcing gun laws were among the popular conversation topics. [ [link removed] ]During the NRA convention weekend, four people were killed and dozens were injured at a birthday party in Dadeville, Alabama. We cannot allow this crisis to continue—make a gift to Giffords Law Center today. We’ve put the NRA on the ropes, and its influence is waning.
