Dear John,
It is time to take action! The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) committee meeting regarding the first-ever over-the-counter birth control pill, which would increase access to reproductive care, is set for May 9.
Check out the Free the Pill Action Center to learn more about digital and in-person avenues to tell the FDA that we want over-the-counter birth control pills now!
As believers in the power of collective action, we know it is going to take all of us contributing to this effort. Besides, right now is always a good time to advance reproductive health care access!
At the Free the Pill Action Center you will find guidance and resources to help amplify your support for over-the-counter birth control access.
Here are dates to keep in mind as you best determine how and when to get involved:
● Submit written testimony to the FDA by April 25 about what it would mean for you or your community to have birth control pills available right on the shelf at your local drugstore. It can be short! The Free the Pill Action Center has a toolkit that can guide you through this.
● If you’re in the DC area, join Reproaction and partners for a rally to #FreeThePill on May 8 from 12:30-1:30pm
In solidarity,
Erin, Shireen, Elizabeth, Evonnia, Jacqueline, Jessica, Kara, Laila, Nataley, Negar, Annie, and the Reproaction team
P.S. #FreethePill Day also happens to be May 9, which means it’s going up on a Tuesday! Join in.
