Dear John,

We envision a world powered entirely by renewable energy—and we know that this is necessary to stop global warming and avoid the its most serious impacts.

In order to move towards a 100 percent renewable energy future, we need to get governments, corporations and institutions to commit to 100 percent renewable energy—and we know colleges and universities are the perfect places to lead the way on renewable. Our vision is to have 100 percent of colleges and universities in the U.S. powered by 100 percent renewable energy by 2050.

As the old saying goes: If not now, when? If not us, who?

That’s why we’re organizing campaigns to urge campuses to switch to 100% renewable energy. From California to  New England, we’ve teamed up with researchers who can prove we have the potential to get a lot more of our energy from the sun and the wind—enough so we can stop burning fossil fuels and ruining the planet.

We’re putting this research to work, getting support from wherever we can find it to prod campuses to commit to 100% renewable energy: a goal that is 100% possible.

And we’re seeing results: Cornell University, Green Mountain College and Colorado State University have already committed to going 100% renewable.

Renewable energy is just one of the ways we’re tackling climate change—and our climate is just one of the problems we’re working to solve.
