with retired Admiral William Owens and wanted you to be among the first to read
it.



One of the best ways to heal the divisions in our country will be for our
elected leaders to find ways to work together to offer real policy solutions to
our greatest challenges.



While much is being written today about the runaway national debt, our
leaders in Congress should be thinking in terms of reform of spending in
critical areas such as our national defense. This means eliminating stifling
bureaucratic delays and inefficiencies, and solving supply-line and procurement
problems that hold back American defense superiority.
