Promises Made, Promises Kept
It was great to be at the White House to watch President Trump sign his historic trade deal with Mexico and Canada into law. The U.S.-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement (USMCA) is a huge win for American workers, farmers, and consumers, and it’s another promise made, promise kept by President Trump who continues to deliver results for American families!
While liberals obsess over impeachment, President Trump is working for you.

$30 Million for Coastal Restoration in St. Bernard and Lafourche Parishes
Earlier this week, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) approved a combined $30 million through the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection, and Restoration Act (CWPPRA) Program for coastal restoration projects in St. Bernard and Lafourche parishes.
Our coastal wetlands protect Louisiana communities, families and businesses while also providing critical habitat for wildlife and fisheries. Rebuilding our coast is essential to preserving our culture and strengthening our economy, and this announcement is great news for people throughout Southeast Louisiana who rely on a strong coastline. I applaud NOAA’s commitment to conserving and sustaining Louisiana’s wetlands, a commitment that will increase protection for our local communities.
Meeting with DOT Secretary Elaine Chao on LA Highway 1
I hosted Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao at the U.S. Capitol this week to emphasize the importance of the LA Highway 1 elevation project in advance of Louisiana’s application for federal Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) grant funding.
In addition to being a main hurricane evacuation route for over 35,000 Louisianans, LA 1 provides critical support to Louisiana’s offshore energy industry and the nation’s access to America’s oil and natural gas supply.

Protecting the Commander in Chief’s Ability to Defend America
Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats recently passed legislation that would repeal the 2002 Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) without replacing it with a new authorization to address ongoing threats. This severely undermines our military’s ability to respond to terrorist threats emanating from Iraq and restricts the President’s authority to fight ISIS and protect Americans.
I delivered a speech on the House Floor in opposition to this reckless attempt to restrict President Trump’s ability to protect our nation.
