Our in-progress Five Mile Creek Urban Greenbelt, which will provide southern Dallas with nearly 13 miles of trails, three parks, and 124 acres of outdoor space, is a welcome win for a historically underserved population. Strange as it sounds, this ambitious project sprang from a littered creek behind a high school—and a community that demanded better for itself.

In the past year alone, TPL supporters helped expand four sites in our National Park System. As we celebrate National Park Week (April 22-30), take a look at our impact—and yours—from Volcanoes National Park in Hawai'i to George Washington's Birthplace in Virginia.

Although the community in Emigrant, Montana, sits right outside Yellowstone National Park, much of the adjacent land in the park is private property. To give locals more direct access to the outdoors, TPL is transforming an old rail line into a spectacular trail.

Earth Day is just a few days away, making it the perfect time to remember and reflect on all that nature gives us. We owe so much to the trails, parks, and lands that bring us joy. Show them love by making a gift this spring. For a limited time, each gift made between now and May 31 will be doubled—up to a total of $250,000!

John, we need your help. For over 55 years, LWCF has protected more than 45,000 state and local park projects in all 50 states. Without it, many of our country’s most revered national parks and wild lands simply wouldn’t exist. Yet, some members of Congress want to roll back federal funding for this critical conservation program. Tell Congress: Don't allow cuts to LWCF!

In 2023, we reflect on and celebrate our first 50 years of impact, and we look ahead at the work still to be done. From protecting unspoiled lands, building parks and trails, and transforming schoolyards, we strive to create healthy, equitable communities for everyone.
