Cut the Crap. Save our App. Urgent Appeal.

John, this is an urgent SOS.

Our Safer Seas and Rivers Service, the only UK-wide pollution alert service, is vital for keeping swimmers safe and raising the alarm when water companies dump raw sewage into our rivers and seas. It’s crucial in exposing their disgusting actions.

But the truth is John, the app is in urgent need of investment to ensure it stays robust and useful – and that’s why I’m asking for your help to save our seas. For 1 week only, every donation you make will be DOUBLED.

In the last 12 months alone, 100,563 people have downloaded the app and we’ve put out 24,270 alerts for pollution so bad it’s not safe to swim. The app puts power in your hands to report pollution and sickness, and ensure water companies and our Government can’t hide from the truth.

But the app needs vital investment, so it can continue to provide accurate, reliable information long into the future. Updating it is costly. We urgently need funding to keep afloat this completely free and unbiased tool.

That’s where you come in. Because THIS WEEK, we have an opportunity to save the Safer Seas and Rivers Service: the Big Give have offered to match any money donated in the next 7 days, up to £70,000! That means anything you give will be instantly *doubled*.

John, this is a huge goal. But I know the Surfers Against Sewage community can make it happen. If everybody reading this email chipped in just £20, together we’d smash the target and ensure the app is future-proof. Will you take 2 minutes to help?

Yes, I'll chip in £20 [[link removed]] Yes, I'll chip in £10 [[link removed]] Yes, I'll chip in another amount [[link removed]]

I know how important looking after our rivers and coasts are to you. And I can’t stress enough how key the Safer Seas and Rivers Service is to making that happen.

The app helps expose the vile activities of water companies that poison our blue spaces and make people sick. It helps us pile on the pressure, and helps us force them to clean up their act.

By showing red crosses all along our coastline where raw sewage (that means faeces, chemicals, wet wipes – the lot) has been dumped in the last 48 hours, the app paints a vivid picture of environmental vandalism.

But water companies are desperate to cover this up. They’re even starting to release their own pollution data so they can control the narrative. We can’t let them drown us out – it’s critical for our unbiased app to survive.

John, donating to this urgent appeal today is the most important thing you can do to keep the spotlight on dirty water companies, and help save our rivers and seas from being destroyed by pollution. And your donation will be doubled if you chip in right now:

Yes, I'll chip in £20 [[link removed]] Yes, I'll chip in £10 [[link removed]] Yes, I'll chip in another amount [[link removed]]

Thank you so much for your support and reading our SOS message. If you donate now [[link removed]] to help claim every last penny of this matched funding, we can invest in our app and take another step towards a thriving ocean, and thriving people.

P.S. We only have 1 week to reach our target, so you’ll be hearing from us a bit more over the next few days. Why not donate right now and help get the appeal off to a head start >> [[link removed]]
