Saturday, April 22 is the Drug Enforcement Administration?s (DEA) ?Drug Take Back Day,? and all 31 MSP posts will participate in the one-day ?Take-Back? effort. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. you can stop by to safely discard expired, unused and unwanted pills, which will be destroyed. No liquids, inhalers, patches or syringes are accepted.

Free Training for Professionals Working with Families Affected by Substance Misuse

In the United States, 8.7 million children live with at least one parent who has a substance use disorder.

In recognition of National Drug Endangered Children (DEC) Awareness Day, the Michigan DEC Alliance and National DEC Alliance are hosting events on April 27 to provide free training to professionals who work with children and families affected by substance misuse. Donated Purses to Benefit Survivors

Purses with a Purpose

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and throughout the month, MSP posts statewide are partnering with community organizations to gather new purses filled with comfort items to donate to sexual abuse survivors.

The purses will be turned over to partnering women?s shelters at the end of April.

MSP Participates in National Drug Take Back Day

Spring is officially here! Now is the perfect time to clean out your house and your medicine cabinets.

Saturday, April 22 is the Drug Enforcement Administration?s (DEA) ?Drug Take Back Day,? and all 31 MSP posts will participate in the one-day ?Take-Back? effort. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. you can stop by to safely discard expired, unused and unwanted pills, which will be destroyed. No liquids, inhalers, patches or syringes are accepted.

If you can?t make it on Saturday, all MSP posts accept unwanted pills weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (except holidays).

Save the Date for MSP?s Safety Day

Save the Date! Our annual MSP Safety Day is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at MSP Headquarters in Dimondale.

Join us for this free, family-friendly event, which will have interactive and educational safety stations.

In the event of inclement weather, MSP Safety Day will be rescheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 2.

World Down Syndrome Day

MSP?s Diverse Abilities Employee Resource Group celebrated World Down Syndrome Day on March 21, by hosting a public event at Brody?s be Caf? in Ada. The event had beverage specials, games, information on the MSP's Vulnerable or Impaired Person (VIP) program [ [link removed] ] and a dance party! It was a great day to celebrate and advocate for the well-being of people with Down Syndrome.
