Here's another heartbreaking statistic: Gun violence has become the leading cause of death for people under age 20.

Every single one of those deaths is preventable. But the GOP refuses to act. A Republican lawmaker summed up his entire party's response: "We're not going to fix it." (Yes, he really said that.)

As Republicans continue their unforgivable unaction, we can't let ourselves become numb. I'm proud that our Democratic Majority passed the first major gun safety bill in decades last year, but that was just the first step. We need to keep working to end gun violence once and for all.
