** Gotta "Organize the Community!!" (It helps keep inflation down!)
------------------------------------------------------------
Daily Caller ([link removed]) (4/13/23) reports: " The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded $177 million to environmental groups, including some who publicly supported the Biden administration’s signature climate law, the Inflation Reduction Act, the agency announced Thursday. The funding will be spread across 17 groups, which will each receive a minimum of $10 million to serve as Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Centers (EJ TCTACs), to help 'underserved and overburdened communities' access government funding to support environmental justice initiatives, the EPA reported in a press release. Groups named by the EPA include the National Wildlife Federation (NWF), WE ACT for Environmental Justice and the Deep South Center for Environmental Justice (DSCFEJ), which each supported the president’s signature climate law, the Inflation Reduction Act. While the NWF supported the law in its totality, the other two organizations
offered more measured support, over concessions made to fossil fuels at the behest Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia. The EPA also tapped the Research Triangle Institute — a nearly billion-dollar nonprofit with a longstanding working relationship with the agency — to serve as an environmental justice center."

** "The EPA’s de-facto EV mandate is too clever by half. In the past, the Supreme Court has declined to relitigate Massachusetts v. EPA. Thanks to the EPA’s latest overreach, the conservative majority on the Court may get an opportunity to do just that."

Tesla is likely seeing decreased demand—that’s why they are lowering prices. Mandating demand for EVs is the point of EPA’s recent rule.

(4/18/23) reports: "Tesla has implemented another wave of price cuts across its Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. It’s the second time this month, resulting in its electric cars starting under $40,000 before incentives. After consistently and gradually increasing its electric vehicle prices over the last two years, Tesla has started bringing those prices down in 2023 to keep demand up. It started with a big price drop in early January, and then some smaller price adjustments after with the latest coming in February for Model 3 and Model Y, and last month for Model S and Model X. We thought Tesla would take a break from reducing prices, but the automaker again slashed prices across its entire lineup earlier this month. Now just a few weeks later, Tesla is again adjusting prices down on Model 3 and Model Y in the US, and not by a small amount."

(2/1/23) reports: "A writer for MotorTrend, William Walker, decided to take his electric pickup to a DC fast-charging station at a 7-11 in California. It took over an hour and cost $51.70 to charge the Ford F-150 Lightning from 13% charge to 80%. A gas-powered Ford F-150 has a 23-gallon tank. At California’s current gas prices, it would have taken Walker 5 minutes and about $77 for a comparable fillup. However, with the tank 80% full, the gas-powered F-150 goes for about 460 miles, whereas the electric will travel 227miles on 80% charge. That’s $0.227 per mile for the electric truck and $0.167 for the gas-powered F-150...Whether you’re in California or Wyoming, it can take about an hour to charge up from 20% to 80% because the battery in the truck is enormous. Depending on the configuration, it holds up to a 131 kilowatt hour battery. That’s enough to power the average American home for several hours. Lawson said he runs power tools off his Lightning battery and could charge up a Tesla
with it. Most people driving gas-powered cars don’t use a full tank of gas every day, Turpen said, so most EV drivers aren’t draining a battery for everyday usage. The average person drives 20 to 30 miles per day. A Lightning owner charging overnight at home would pay a few bucks per day in electricity and do the commute with a full charge. "
