The Supreme Court could decide today whether a Donald Trump-appointed judge’s partisan ruling to suspend access to mifepristone, a safe and effective abortion medication, will go into effect.

I am a mechanical engineer. I am rooted in the belief that politics should never guide decisions about FDA-approved medication — science should.

But Republicans are determined to enact abortion bans state by state, and attack abortion pill access nationwide. The conservative Supreme Court’s disastrous ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade was far from the end of their decades-long agenda to restrict and outright ban abortion.

I won’t back down from this fight. Reproductive healthcare is healthcare — and we must act on the federal level to protect it for every person who needs it in every state.

That’s why I am an original co-sponsor of the Women’s Health Protection Act to guarantee reproductive rights for all. Will you sign on as a citizen co-sponsor right now to show your support for reproductive rights?
