Ranked Choice Voting is advancing in the State Senate — and we need you to show up and show support! Join us at 9:30am this Thursday, April 20 as the Senate prepares to vote on the Elections Omnibus bill (rolled into the State and Local Government and Veterans Omnibus bill), which includes a task force to consider RCV at the local and state level. 

We’ll meet and greet senators outside the Senate chamber before session begins (tentatively scheduled for 10am –– note new time). Please arrive by 9:30. While we don’t know when the vote will be taken, we’ll be there to see it through. Stay as long as you can or take a break and come back when the vote is up; we’ll send an alert when we expect the vote to take place. 

Whether or not you can make it Thursday, please contact your senator and ask them to vote YES on the Elections Omnibus Bill. This is a key moment, and your senator needs to hear from you before the vote on Thursday! 

While the RCV measure has gone through some changes and may require further amendments, it is critical that the Omnibus bill passes so that RCV continues to advance in the legislative process. 

This is a big week for RCV at the legislature, and we hope to see you on Thursday!
