Picture this: a cherry-red barn surrounded by clucking chickens, wandering cows, bleating sheep, and mud-covered pigs basking under the sun. Fields brimming with fresh tomatoes, leafy greens, and assorted fruits and vegetables.
Now imagine this: bleak stretches of depleted soil -- a single crop as far as the eye can see. Pigs and chickens crammed into cages so small they can’t even turn around or spread their wings. Calves RIPPED away from mama cows. Unsanitary conditions ripe for breeding new diseases.
Which of these farms should Congress be promoting? Sustainable, family-owned farms or the cruel, industrial operations owned by megacorporations?
Right now, factory farming corporations are dominating small and family-owned farms to the detriment of our communities, animals, and the planet. YOU can help change that -- Congress could pass the Farm System Reform Act and transform our agricultural system away from one that values profit above all else. Please, Friend, take immediate action to FIGHT factory farms and PROTECT people, animals, and the planet from corporate greed!
Factory farms are often located in Black, brown, Indigenous, and low-wealth communities where they POLLUTE the air and water, MISTREAT workers, THREATEN wildlife habitats, and DUMP animal waste into fecal lagoons.
There is no excuse for Congress to continue supporting this TOXIC industry. That’s why this bill is so important, Friend. Your Members of Congress need to hear from you! Tell your representatives by 11:59pm TONIGHT: REIN IN corporate factory farms and STOP the pollution and animal abuse NOW!
