Your voice makes all the difference CTV Alert April 19, 2023 ISSUE: Civil Rights Amendment Would Require Employers to Cover Abortion as an Employee Benefit Dear Friends, We have an urgent request. Senate Bill 147 threatens to require Michigan employers (with 15 employees or more) to offer coverage for abortions if benefits are offered for pregnancy or child birth. No business owner or religious organization with employees should be forced to pay for abortions against their protected religious conscience. If passed, this bill may have the repercussion of forcing religious organizations across the state to stop offering benefits altogether in order to avoid conflicting with the Civil Rights Act.
