Six-month shipper air cargo contracts rose 36% year over-year for the first quarter and were up 24% over the fourth quarter of 2022, according to Xeneta's Clive Data Services. "Shippers have regained some ground because of the lower rate conditions, which have affected the airlines and forwarders, but it's not like the bloodbath we see in the ocean market," says Niall van de Wouw, Xeneta's chief airfreight officer.
