Dear John,
Contrary to popular belief, 2023 is an election year.
Across West Virginia, brave local citizens are running for town councils this spring and summer. Morgantown. Princeton. Middlebourne. Weston. Charles Town. Two Run. And more...
Of the 17 municipal races we've won, the average cost for the whole campaign is less than $1200 per election. A contribution of $250 can fund about 1000 cards - which are then designed and distributed in collaboration with these candidates, door-to-door.
Donate now to help kickstart a no-corporate-cash, grassroots political career. Donate now to help build the bench in rural West Virginia.
Your dollars will support people like Brian Butcher, a formerly unsheltered Morgantown City Councilor who has been a brave voice for affordable housing in the city. People like local author, activist, and NAACP board member Marly Ynigues, also running in Morgantown. People like first-time candidate Candace Wilson, who's running for Princeton City Council on a platform of supporting the arts, education, and non-discrimination.
These are the first 3 brave candidates we've endorsed this cycle. Please consider making a monthly or one-time donation, big or small, to support them and the many more who will follow.
Here's that donation link: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/wv-can-t-wait-political-action-committee-1. Or mail a check to WV Can't Wait Action Committee / PO Box 1433 / Huntington, WV 25717.
Thanks for considering this request. If you know of other candidates who are running this cycle (or in 2024!), send them our way.
Sincerely,
Stephen Smith
Co-Chair, WV Can't Wait
