Dear John,
How has climate change and clean energy impacted your life?
Maybe you’ve watched the ice retreat on a nearby lake earlier than usual over the years, or have to check your dog more frequently for ticks these days. Or maybe you just got a heat pump or solar installed and are seeing the benefits in your monthly energy bill.
We all have stories to share. Storytelling is part of being human – we tell stories about our place in the world to connect us with each other and our more-than-human surroundings. Stories help us understand perspectives that differ from our own, and inspire us to action.
That’s why we’re hosting our first-ever “Maine Conservation Voices” storytelling workshop! We’ll gather virtually on Thursday, April 27 from 3-4 PM. We’ll share our stories and take action to advance Maine’s goal of reaching 100% clean energy by 2040.1

We’ll be joined by MCV’s Senior Director of Policy & Partnerships (and wonderful writer!) Kathleen Meil as we write short Letters to the Editor (LTEs) and submit them to Maine newspapers. This is a chance to share your enthusiasm about the new clean energy goal and inspire fellow Mainers to take action. During the event, we’ll brainstorm our personal connections to climate and clean energy, go over how to write a good LTE, draft our letters, and submit them – all in one hour!
This event will be informal and conversational – bring paper, a pen, and a friend! Don’t forget to register to join us here.
See you soon, |
