NAFCU reiterates need for proper oversight of digital assets ([link removed] )
The House Financial Services Subcommittee on Digital Assets, Financial Technology and Inclusion holds a hearing today to discuss stablecoins, including draft legislation that could be used to regulate stablecoins. Ahead of the hearing, NAFCU Vice President of Legislative Affairs Brad Thaler sent a letter to subcommittee leaders reiterating the need for clear regulations and supervisory framework – without which “poses risks to the adoption of these otherwise promising technologies.”

As the NCUA Board is set to receive a briefing on federal credit unions’ (FCUs) permissible interest rate ceiling during tomorrow’s meeting, NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger wrote an open letter to Chairman Todd Harper in American Banker detailing the consequences of the current cap.
NCUA OMWI report to Congress available now ([link removed] )
The NCUA’s Office of Minority and Women Inclusion (OMWI) released its annual report to Congress on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs and initiatives by the agency. The report also details the NCUA’s work to accomplish “fair and inclusive business practices,” both by itself and credit unions.
