We’re seeing it in Tennessee, Florida, Idaho — everywhere that Republicans hold power.

Radical bans on accessing health care. Extreme laws that make it harder to keep our communities safe from guns. Assaults on our democracy.

It’s extremism, plain and simple. But it doesn’t just happen overnight, team.

Ultra-partisan redistricting in GOP-controlled states is what brought so many states to this point, and North Carolina is at risk.

This is a true 50-50, toss-up state. It was incredibly close in the last presidential election, and we currently have an equal number of Republican and Democratic representatives to the U.S. House. If the GOP gets their way, they will stack the deck against Democrats and simply grab political power for themselves.

Republican leaders have already announced that they plan on redistricting state legislative and congressional seats this summer.

Ultra-partisan redistricting in GOP-controlled states has cut Democrats out of power. It’s made it impossible to have competitive races in most districts. It’s stripped voters of political power in our democracy.

When one party has control and is assured that they’ll be able to hold onto their power no matter what, they can IGNORE the will of the people and focus solely on their extreme partisan agenda.

It’s dangerous. It’s wrong. And we can’t allow it to happen in North Carolina.
