Representative Adriano Espaillat Announces Winners of the Congressional App Challenge
Espaillat Welcomes Student Winners of the 2022 Congressional App Challenge Competition to Washington, DC for #HOUSEOFCODE event
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Representative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) announced the student winners of the Congressional App Challenge, an annual competition celebrating students engagement in STEM and work in computer science.
"Congratulations to Afi Bongo, Ivon Dominguez, Christopher Li, and Julian Pena from my district on their winning app designed to help students find jobs and workforce opportunities," said Rep. Espaillat.
“I am excited to see all they will achieve in their incredibly bright futures and am delighted to welcome them to Washington, DC for this year's House of Code event, hosted by the Congressional App Challenge."
The Job Finder App, developed by students from New York's 13th congressional district, demonstrates a high level of knowledge in coding and computer science and embodies innovation, resourcefulness, and originality. By helping teens with minimal experience find jobs, the Job Finder App is a solution to addressing employment challenges that youth face when first starting out in the workforce.
"Empowering students of all backgrounds in STEM is vital to the success of our nation, and I remain committed to expanding opportunities to help students in my district develop their experience in science, technology, engineering, and math to support interest in the innovative industries of the future," Espaillat concluded.
