This Republican bill did nothing to make elections more fair, free, or secure.  ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌  ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌  ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌

John, Arizonans deserve an election system that is fair, free, and secure. Simple as that.

What Arizonans don’t need is to be removed from our early voting system if they happen to miss voting in a single election cycle, essentially making it less convenient to vote — yet that’s the main intent of legislation extreme Republican lawmakers sent to my desk earlier this month.

And that legislation was swiftly met with my veto pen.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m always ready to sign bills that make voting more accessible and accurate — but the election bills extreme Republican lawmakers are drafting don’t check either of those boxes.

Regardless of whether extreme Republicans want to participate or not, I’m working hard to improve and innovate our election system. My newly formulated Bipartisan Elections Task Force will help us make meaningful changes to support voters and election administrators in Arizona.

When I was sworn in, I made a promise to build an Arizona for everyone. That means that no matter your zip code, you should have a safe and easy way to make your voice heard at the ballot box.

If you agree, consider pitching in to support my work today. This grassroots team is what helps make this all possible.
