Animal protection laws are abysmal. Fortunately, a new piece of legislation—the Industrial Agriculture Accountability Act (IAA)—provides us with a unique opportunity to improve conditions for animals at factory farms.

And the bill is gaining momentum.

This diverse group of advocates includes people from animal welfare, public health, labor, environmental, religious, and agricultural backgrounds, demonstrating how far-reaching the negative impacts of industrial animal agriculture really are.

The IAA would also require factory farms (instead of taxpayers) to cover the costs of preparing for and responding to disaster events—like the current bird-flu outbreak, which has led to the killing of millions of chickens around the globe.

Although the bill has a long way to go before it becomes law, this progress is thanks to animal advocates like you who refuse to stop fighting for change.
