We are the only ones who can hold them accountable

Hi John,
Something that always bothered me about Maricopa County's administration is how they expect to never face accountability for their actions.
They disenfranchised thousands of voters with their election day hijinks. Their incompetence- or intentional fraud- swung several statewide elections, so candidates who would NEVER hold them accountable would take power.
That is why the state legislature MUST hold them to account. We are the only ones.

One of the reasons it's important for us to pass corrections in Arizona's election law is that Maricopa seeks out the loopholes for malfeasance.
The issue with the printers that caused the calculation and tabulation errors in the November election was known... and not addressed.
Nick Moseder reported on the investigation, on his "Nine Foot Nick's Newsletter", with this comment on the "fit to print" issue...
"The report from Ruth McGregor attempts to explain away the machine failures as a result of paper thickness, and neglects to explain why there were 19-inch ballot images printed on election day.
This report also fails to explain whether or not the 19-inch ballot phenomenon contributed to ballot rejections on election day.
However, despite the obvious attempt from Maricopa County to avoid culpability and blame paper thickness, the investigators that authored this “root cause analysis” report have made several DAMNING admissions, which actually CONFIRM Clay Parikh’s testimony.
There are admissions in this report which are so damning in fact that I wonder if they even KNOW what they’ve admitted to…

Nick's analysis is spot on here: "The reality is, there were 19-inch ballots being printed at RANDOM, and NO ONE KNOWS WHY THIS OCCURRED! 4 printers randomly printed 19-inch ballots. That’s a pretty significant finding, wouldn’t you agree?!
This is not something that just randomly happens… These printers did not gain a mind of their own and decide to shrink the ballots down an inch…

It certainly appears there was some malfeasance here.
But that's not all. The wide range of outcomes when testing the printers suggests they were not adequately tested or adjusted BEFORE the election.

The investigation did not attempt to answer these questions, beyond absolving Maricopa for the issues. They left these and many other questions unaddressed.
Putting forward a half-baked attempt to absolve themselves from blame is the kind of thing Maricopa County does. It's why they have become a nationwide joke.
We in Arizona, we can't let that joke be played on us again.
The people in charge listen to YOU. When you support my re-election, they take my legislation more seriously. If you agree that we need to bring Maricopa County to heel, I need your help! ([link removed])
