In the first 25 days of the year, legislators in 32 states introduced or
pre-filed 150 bills aimed at making it harder to vote.

Supporter, the numbers are staggering — that’s six anti-voter bills
per day! And sadly, more bills are still being introduced. Just recently,
Far Right lawmakers in Texas and Virginia introduced bills that would give
them the power to overturn election results to retain their grip on power.

The threat to our democracy is not a hypothetical one. In the wake of
their 2020 election losses, Far Right lawmakers across the country have
worked overtime to restrict voter access and enable corrupt politicians to
dismantle election results they simply don’t like. They’re trying to rig
the electoral playing field to their advantage. We refuse to sit by and
let that happen.

For more than 40 years, People For the American Way has been on the front
lines of critical fights to defend our rights from those who would take
them from us. From fighting for a democracy that works for everyone to
challenging attacks on equal justice for all, each of our campaigns aim to
achieve a country where the promise of America is real for all Americans.

With so much at stake, we have big plans for this year, including:

* Continuing to build grassroots support for federal legislation that
protects voting rights and expands ballot access, especially for
voters of color and others who have been historically marginalized;
* We're campaigning in the states to strengthen voting rights in
Minnesota, pass comprehensive pro-democracy legislation in Michigan,
and fully fund a statewide public financing program in New York;
* Pressuring corporations to stop their campaign donations to Members of
Congress who oppose voting rights;
* Campaigning to nominate and confirm judges who will defend voting
rights and stop the Far Right’s takeover of the courts;
* ... and more!
