Quick DACA update for you, Friend:
Last week, President Biden announced a huge change that would grant healthcare access to DACA recipients through the Affordable Care Act & Medicaid. Just like we won DACA 10 years ago, this victory is claimed by the advocacy & organizing of our immigrant communities.โ
34% of DACA recipients compared with 10% of the general population have no insurance of any kind, so the removal of that barrier is a huge win for the hundreds of thousands who are now able to receive essential, life saving care. But, we know that healthcare for DACA recipients is not enough, we need the same access to care for all 11 million of us! ๐ฃ Can you join me in action by sending a letter to your Congress Members to demand they fight for citizenship?
๐ฉ SEND A LETTER ๐ฉ
Weโre at a bittersweet crossroads of celebrating this moment where hundreds of thousands in our community are now able to get insurance coverage while also acknowledging that the future of DACA is limited.๐ฃ๏ธ Congress must do their jobs to represent us & fight for us, so take a second and send them a letter to demand citizenship for all!
This is life changing for DACA recipients who havenโt had access to health insurance coverage before. Now take a second to spread the word so more people hear about this update:
