Statement from Representative Adriano Espaillat on Historic Executive Actions to Improve Care in America
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Representative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) issued the following statement on President Biden’s sweeping executive actions to improve care for American families.
“Today, President Biden announced the most comprehensive set of executive actions any President has ever taken to make care more affordable and accessible for hard-working families while supporting care workers and family caregivers,” said Rep. Espaillat. “I commend President Biden on today’s historic actions to expand access to affordable, high-quality care and provide support for care workers and family caregivers in my district and across the nation. As we continue to strengthen our economy, the Biden-Harris administration remains focused on breaking down longstanding barriers that have left many working families and communities on the sidelines.”
Specifically, the President’s executive order will:
- Make child care and long-term care more affordable for working families
- Improve access to home-based care for veterans\
- Enhance job quality for long-term care workers
- Improve job quality and benefits for early educators
- Provide greater support for family caregivers
- Advance domestic workers’ rights\
- Ease the process to construct early childhood facilities for Tribes
