Driving while Black isn’t a crime, and it absolutely shouldn’t be a death sentence.
And yet for generations, Black people have been unjustly scrutinized, subjected to excessive force and biased interaction, and even killed by the police — all in the name of “traffic safety.”
That’s why, together with her colleagues in the Congressional Black Caucus, Cori is demanding Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg address racial disparities in traffic enforcement.
John, a donation of $5 from you today will help power Cori’s work to root out racial injustice in traffic stops and save Black lives. Can you pitch in?

Sandra Bland. Philando Castile. Daunte Wright. Tyre Nichols. All their deaths began with a traffic stop.
Last year alone, more than 175 people were murdered by police after initially being stopped for a traffic violation.
We can’t add any more people to the list, John.
The Department of Transportation must take critical steps to reduce racial inequities in traffic enforcement, which is rooted in our country’s history of policing Black mobility and physical freedom.
Cori won’t stop fighting to end the racist status quo of traffic enforcement. But she needs your help to keep up the pressure. If you’re with us in this fight, will you chip in $5 now?
In solidarity,
Team Cori
