Over the weekend, every candidate running for federal office was required
to submit the receipts for their first quarter fundraising numbers to the
Federal Election Commission. Here’s what that looked like for Missouri’s
Senate race:

Lucas Kunce raised $1.1M+, 100% raised from actual donations. Most ever
raised in Q1 by a challenger in Missouri. Average donation was just $34.
Josh Hawley raised $600K. 58% was from actual donations. 42% from
transferred from GOP committees. Federal Election Commission data,
quarterly reports for April 15, 2023.

We released our record-breaking number early — $1.1 million raised all
thanks to real people like you. Lucas + our whole team are blown away by
the support you’ve shown this campaign over the last three months and
we’re proud to be a completely people-powered movement.

But here’s the bad news: On March 31st — the very last day of the quarter
— GOP insiders controlling a joint fundraising committee for his campaign
and the National Republican Senatorial Committee transferred $250,000
directly to Josh Hawley’s campaign.

We already knew that national Republicans view Lucas + the movement we’re
building together as a threat, but this makes it real.

If these are the kind of resources they’re willing to spend in the
off-year to make Josh Hawley look strong, it’s only a matter of time
before they start spending even more to ramp up their attacks and put his
campaign in the position to win.
