Nearly a year after the fall of Roe, women's health care continues to come under attack. Earlier this month, a Texas judge issued a ruling to suspend the Food and Drug Administration's approval of the abortion pill mifepristone.

This ruling against a science-backed, safe medication represents a dangerous departure from the status quo that will have undeniable consequences for millions of Americans.

I've always believed that every woman should have the freedom to make choices about her health — including the freedom to take safe, effective medications like mifepristone.

That is why I am glad the Biden administration has appealed this ruling and why I joined my colleagues in filing an amicus brief reminding the courts to leave science to the scientists.
