Dairy Grants/Contracts Available Through Partnership

The Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center, hosted by the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets, has announced these new grant and contract opportunities.

NE-DBIC provides support to dairy businesses through projects that promote the development, production, marketing, and distribution of dairy products. The NE-DBIC serves an eleven-state region, including Maine.

Dairy Farm Cohort Technical Assistance Contract

Providers can apply for up to $150,000 to lead cohort-based technical assistance for dairy farmers in one or more of these areas: increased grazing quality or quantity, home-grown forage enhancement, alternative herd management, innovative staffing and business management, and marketing and education of dairy production practices. The deadline is May 26, 2023 at 4:30 pm ET.

Dairy Marketing & Branding Services Grant

Dairy processors and producer associations can apply for $10,000 to $50,000 to access professional marketing and branding services to elevate value-added dairy businesses. The application period runs from April 27 to June 8, 2023 at 2:00 pm ET.

Existing Dairy Processor Expansion Grant

$12 million in funds are available to purchase specialized equipment that will help processors expand the use of regionally produced milk. Three application tiers accommodate processors of all sizes. Tier 1 & Tier 2 processors are required to submit a pre-application, which is open now through May 11. Tier 3 processors are invited to submit a single application.
