News from Rep. Chip Roy

Dear Mr. xxxxxx,

As I begin another busy week in Washington, I wanted to pass along my latest update on what I have been doing to fight for you, Texas’ 21st Congressional district, and our country as a whole:

Fighting Biden’s reckless spending
The spending fight is just beginning. As I told the Wall Street Journal, I didn’t come to DC to get second place – I came here to win. It is past time to reign in Biden’s woke and reckless spending that is ruining the day-to-day life of Americans like you. I won’t stop until Washington bureaucrats quit messing up the lives of the people I represent.

“It’s game time”: Securing the border
Last Tuesday, I joined Fox News’ Harris Faulkner to discuss the shameful crisis at our southern border. Fentanyl is pouring over the border and killing thousands of Americans, hundreds of migrants are dying while crossing the US-Mexico line, and empowered cartels are killing American citizens in broad daylight. It’s game time – Congress must end the disastrous policies implemented by this administration and hold Biden accountable for his failure to obtain operational control of the border.

Stopping Congress’ unconstitutional spending
Last week, I led 9 of my Republican colleagues in backing a lawsuit to overturn the $1.7 trillion-dollar omnibus bill that was passed unconstitutionally last December. Congress should not get away with passing massive, inflation induced spending bills without following our country’s founding rules.

District Roundup
Last week, I had the privilege of riding along with an officer from the San Antonio Police Department and learning more about day-to-day operations. I am so grateful for these heroes’ dedication to protecting the TX-21 community!

C-Span StudentCam 2023 Winner
Congratulations to Carson Collins for winning the 1st place prize in C-Span’s StudentCam competition! Carson, a 10th grade homeschooler from Austin, finished first in the competition with his documentary entitled "A Perilous Purchase: CCP Ownership of U.S. Land."

Carson’s documentary can be viewed here.

Passport resources
The State Department is encouraging passport applications and renewals during the off-peak travel season in fall or winter because demand is lower and processing is faster.

Please remember to check your passport expiration date and keep in mind some countries require your passport to be valid for six months after your visit. You can find information on how to apply or renew your passport here.

If you have any concerns that my office can help out with, please don’t hesitate to call or email through the “email me” portal on my website. If you feel so inclined, you can also just send an old-fashioned letter to my Washington or district offices.

If your friends, relatives, or neighbors would also like to sign up for these weekly updates, they can do so by sending my office a quick email or simply by signing up here. For more up-to-the-minute updates, you can follow my press team on Facebook and Twitter.

Sincerely,
