Folks, My former far-right opponent Yvette Herrell announced she’s officially running against me in a 2024 rematch for New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District. And she was joined by none other than House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. This isn’t just any old race for Congress: McCarthy came to Las Cruces because he knows how important NM-02 is to keeping the House red or flipping it blue next year. He also knows I’m a DCCC Frontline member and a top target of the NRCC, because we narrowly won this seat by 1,350 votes. McCarthy and Herrell are desperate to kick me out of office, take this seat back, and move our district, state, and country backward — we can’t let them. Not with reproductive choice, affordable healthcare and housing, environmental protection, and so much more on the line. This announcement is a wake-up call: the race to 2024 begins NOW. Our campaign needs all the grassroots support we can get to go up against extremist Herrell and her far-right backers like McCarthy and Trump.
