Help unlock $10,000 in additional support for birds.
Earlier today, we launched our Earth Day Giving Challenge with a big goal: Unlock a $10,000 gift to further our work to protect birds and their habitats from the worsening impacts of climate change. At a time when 70 bird species have lost two-thirds of their populations in the past 50 years—and are on track to lose another 50% in the coming decades—what we do next will determine the future for birds.
Give Monthly
Immediate action is needed to protect birds and the places they need—the places we all need—while there’s still time to do so. We’re still looking for 99 more caring friends like you to join us with a monthly gift to reach our goal. So please, start your monthly gift right away and help unlock $10,000 for the birds we love.

“Urgent action is needed to help these birds before they become endangered.” That was the dire warning in the latest State of the Birds report from the U.S. North American Bird Conservation Initiative: More than half of U.S. bird species are in decline. And of those, 70 species, including the beloved Golden-winged Warbler and Rufous Hummingbird, are identified as at a “Tipping Point”—birds that have lost 50% or more of their populations in the past 50 years and are on track to lose another half or more in the coming decades.

Yet there is hope for birds because we have you—and together, we’re helping them survive by protecting the places they need. Ahead of Earth Day, we’re looking for 99 caring friends to start a monthly gift. Will you be one of them? Thanks to a generous group of donors, your new monthly gift will help unlock $10,000 more for birds in need.

This Earth Day, birds are at a tipping point
More than half of U.S. bird species are in decline.
389 North American bird species are at increasing risk of climate extinction.
3 billion birds have vanished in less than a human lifetime.

Because birds have been telling us for quite some time that the health of our planet is at stake—and because we have listened—we’re already protecting vulnerable birds in every landscape where we work. With more than a century of expertise and caring bird lovers like you behind our efforts, we’re giving species a better chance at survival: restoring and improving the resilience of important landscapes; successfully advocating for climate legislation at the state and federal levels; transforming communities into places where birds flourish; and securing space, clean air, and clean water that birds and people need to live and thrive.

But we can—and must—do more while there’s still time. So ahead of Earth Day, please join us with a monthly gift while it will help unlock $10,000 more for birds and their habitats.

Sincerely,

National Audubon Society
