We’re not waiting: we’re mobilizing against them right now. Indivisibles,
Yesterday, GOP senators completed the latest phase in their cover-up scheme: they blocked witnesses from appearing in the impeachment trial.
This isn't the first bad vote they’ve taken, and it won’t be the last. We know Senate Republicans are interested in one thing and one thing only -- keeping power for themselves and Trump. And we know, no matter what happens in the rest of this trial and this year, they’re beyond redemption. So we’re not waiting: we’re mobilizing against them right now.
We launched the Payback Project to show these senators we won’t stand for their destructive, anti-democratic antics anymore. We’re targeting nine of the worst Senate Republicans, and we’re going to kick them out of office this year.
While we wait for the official verdict in the impeachment trial, here are three things you can do this weekend to get started on your payback:
- Sign up to text voters in our target states -- connect directly with voters to mobilize in their states to kick these senators out of office and elect progressive candidates. This is an especially great tool if you already have good senators, or if yours aren’t up for re-election this year: you can still have an impact on making the Senate truly represent the people.
- Vote on our first newspaper ad -- we’re going to place a full-page newspaper ad in one of our target states, showcasing a senator’s bad vote on impeachment and funneling people directly into our payback plans. Who do you most want to see voted out? Vote and let us know.
- Donate $10 to the Payback Project and support all our plans -- our texting and ads are just the start. We’ve got a massive, million-dollar plan to get our payback this year. We’re a grassroots-funded organization, so that means we’re relying on you to make them all possible.
We know it can be easy to get demoralized when GOP senators are so unwilling to listen to the people. But like we’ve been saying: get mad, then get even. We can do just that if we come together right now. Thanks for being a part of it.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
