Dear Mr. xxxxxx:
2023 Congressional Art Competition Winners
Monday morning, I had the honor of hosting the 2023 Congressional Art Competition at Wallace State University in Hanceville, Alabama.
Each year, students from schools in Alabama’s Fourth District submit their artwork to be judged across several categories, with the “Best of Show” Award being the piece of art that is selected to be displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.
Also this year, Wallace State Community College graciously awarded our category winners scholarships. I would like to thank Wallace State President Dr. Vicki Karolewics and everyone at Wallace not only for these scholarships, but also for hosting our awards ceremony.
The competition is not over yet. The People’s Choice Competition will begin this evening at 5pm and run through Wednesday evening at 5pm. To cast your vote for your favorite piece, visit my official Facebook page, place a like on the photo containing your favorite piece, and comment why it is your favorite. NOTE: We only count the traditional "thumbs up" likes, and not the other emojis.
I have here the full list of winners and a photo of our “Best of Show” winner that will soon make the trip to our nation’s Capital. You can watch the ceremony here.
